Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is uncertain and the US has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said wreckage fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
