Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles recently following treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
