Missing star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another three points in their next match against Finland's KuPS ought to be sufficient to seal direct passage to the last 16, particularly after a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Opportunity

This match provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in match.

The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
